- Journal Overview
The Khazar Journal of Water and Environment (KJWE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal, free of charge. The journal publishes high-quality research in water sciences, environmental processes, and related computational and data-driven approaches. KJWE provides a rigorous platform for original research and review articles that integrate theory, observation, and computation to advance understanding, prediction, and management of water-related processes across terrestrial, aquatic, and atmospheric environments.
- Scope and Aims
KJWE covers a focused yet comprehensive spectrum of topics, including but not limited to:
- Core Hydrological Processes: Surface-water and groundwater systems, precipitation dynamics, evapotranspiration, infiltration, runoff, and soil-moisture variability.
- Hydraulics and Hydraulic Structures: Experimental and computational fluid mechanics, sediment and flow dynamics, hydraulic structures, stormwater management.
- Irrigation and Drainage Systems: Design, optimization, and management of irrigation and drainage networks.
- Atmospheric and Climate Processes: Weather and climate effects on hydrological systems, extreme events, and climate-model applications.
- Water Quality and Hydrochemistry: Physical, chemical, and biological processes governing aquatic systems.
- Ecohydrology and Environmental Interactions: Coupled hydrological–ecological processes in rivers, lakes, wetlands, and coastal areas.
- Water Resources Engineering and Governance: Integrated management, policy, transboundary water issues, and geospatial decision-support tools.
- Hydrological Modeling and Data Science: Conceptual, physical, and data-driven modeling, including AI and machine learning applications.
KJWE encourages interdisciplinary submissions that bridge hydrology, hydraulics, environmental science, climatology, and data science.
- Article Types
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles: Analytical, structured, and systematic literature reviews. Review articles by the Editor-in-Chief may be published no more than once per year.
- Editor’s Notes: Published at the Editor-in-Chief’s discretion.
To avoid potential conflicts of interest or editorial bias, the Editor-in-Chief does not publish original research articles. Review articles and editorial notes are permitted as described above.
- Language and Style
- Articles must be written in English.
- Authors are responsible for scientific accuracy and language clarity. Professional language editing is recommended if needed.
