Publication Ethics
The Khazar Journal of Water and Environment (KJWE) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing and adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are expected to:
- Submit original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere
- Properly acknowledge all sources and references used in the manuscript
- Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and redundant or self-plagiarism
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest in a transparent manner
- Ensure that all individuals listed as authors have made a substantial scholarly contribution to the work
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- Conduct reviews confidentially, objectively, and based on scientific merit
- Decline review assignments if a conflict of interest exists
- Inform the editor of any substantial similarity, ethical concern, or suspected misconduct
Responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board are responsible for:
- Making publication decisions based solely on the scientific quality and relevance of manuscripts
- Safeguarding the confidentiality of authors’ and reviewers’ information
- Taking appropriate action, in accordance with COPE guidelines, in cases of ethical misconduct, including corrections, retractions, or rejection of manuscripts
- To avoid any potential conflict of interest or editorial bias, the Editor-in-Chief does not publish original research articles in this journal. Review articles authored by the Editor-in-Chief may be published no more than once per year and are subject to independent peer review handled by an associate editor. Contributions in the form of editorial notes or “Editor’s Notes” are permitted.
